TSKHINVAL, December 8 (Itar-Tass) —— In Tskhinval, a meeting between Alla Dzhioyeva and Sergei Vinokurov, the Russian mediator in the dialogue between the Opposition and the authorities, has ended inconclusively.

Dzhioyeva briefed the media after the meeting on her demands and the compromise that had been offered to her. Dzhioyeva said she was adamant the incumbent president, Eduard Kokoity, should let her take over the presidential powers until an election re-run on March 25, 2012, while she would vow to guarantee fair elections.

Dzhioyeva and her supporters were asked to accept a compromise solution – the resignation of the prosecutor-general. She dismissed the measure as an “unacceptable half-step.”
