Submachine guns, a large number of ammunition, several homemade grenades were found on the bandits.
“According to the available reports at the operative headquarters of the National Anti-Terrorist Committee, the gang was masterminding actively several terrorist acts, particularly they set off several test blasts and had regular fire drills,” the spokesman said. “The bandits were planning to use Marina Urusova as a suicide bomber,” he said.
The National Anti-Terrorist Committee recalled that three members of Gochiyaev’s gang were earlier arrested. “During further operation in Karachayevsk and Khusa-Kardonik a laboratory for making homemade explosive devices, a large number of weapons and ammunition, electric detonators and other parts for homemade explosive devices, as well as explosives with a total weight of more than two tonnes were found in the private house and the garage,” he said.
