TSKHINVAL, December 8 (Itar-Tass) —— Ex-candidate for South Ossetian president Alla Dzhioyeva is forming a popular front in support of Vladimir Putin and believes the move proves her pro-Russian orientation.

“The movement [popular front] will embrace all the 16,000 South Ossetians, who voted for me in the presidential elections in South Ossetia on November 27. It is the best evidence proving that we are oriented towards Russia and that we are thankful to [Russian Prime Minister] Vladimir Putin and [Russian President] Dmitry Medvedev for the support they have been giving to us,” the RES news agency of the republic cited Dzhioyeva on Thursday as saying.

She also said she was determined to uphold her “right to be president” and warned that if incumbent President Eduard Kokoity, whose term of office has expired, does not hand over power legally, she will be “inaugurated on Tskhinval’s central square at 14:00 local time on December 10.”

Dzhioyeva confirmed that a day before she had had a “constructive dialogue” with the Moscow envoy. The dialogue will be resumed later on Thursday, she said and added that she hoped consultations with the intermediary - Head of the Department for Interregional and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries for the President of the Russian Federation Sergei Vinokurov -would finally yield positive results.
