TSKHINVAL, December 7 (Itar-Tass) — Consultations of the opposition with representatives of the president of the Russian Federation yielded for the first time positive results, South Ossetian ex-presidential candidate Alla Dzhioyeva said after the meeting with Sergei Vinokurov, the head of the department for interregional and cultural ties with foreign countries at the Russian president.
“We listened and we were heard. We made a number of reasonable proposals and we expect to receive the answer to them tomorrow,” Dzhioyeva said.
The consultations with Sergei Vinokurov will be continued on Thursday, December 9 at 16:00 Moscow time.
Alla Dzhioyeva and her supporters also positively assessed the dismissal of a number of officials. South Ossetian President Eduard Kokoity signed a decree to this effect on Wednesday.
He dismissed minister of education and science Aryana Dzhioyeva, minister of public health Otar Gassiyev, chairman of the state committee for mass communications Georgy Kabisov and head of Tskhinval’s administration Gerasim Khugayev.
