ROSTOV-ON-DON, December 7 (Itar-Tass) — The North Caucasus district military court on Wednesday sentenced former Mayor of the Russian army Vladimir Klenkov to 12 years in a penal colony for espionage for Georgia.
The court ascertained during the inquest that Klenkov, driven by selfish motives, passed secret information to Georgian secret services in 2002. The Major passed the data on the operation of army units and divisions in the Southern Military District.
The court also stripped Klenko of his rank.
