MOSCOW, December 6 (Itar-Tass) —— Yabloko leader Sergei Mitrokhin was seized on Moscow’s Triumfalnaya Square.
“I am inside a police bus together with 30 detainees. It is hot and stuffy in here. We are brought to a police station, most probably, to the Meshchanskoye,” he wrote in his Twitter micro-blog.
The opposition also reported the detention of Eduard Limonov.
It was reported earlier that opposition member Boris Nemtsov and Gazeta.ru observer Bozhena Rynska had been detained in an unauthorized opposition action in the center of Moscow.
The police seized Nemtsov on Triumfalnaya Square, a police officer told Itar-Tass. In all, dozens of opposition members are taken into custody.
Some time ago the opposition protesters tried to break through police cordon towards the Nashi rally on Moscow’s Triumfalnaya Square. The attempt failed.
Police trucks are moving along the Sadovoye Ring towards Triumfalnaya Square. The traffic is limited and suspended around Triumfalnaya Square.
The Nashi are chanting “Russia! Putin! Medvedev!” About 5,000 are taking part in the Nashi action, the police said.
More than 100 protesters are detained on Moscow’s Triumfalnaya Square, the city police told Itar-Tass.
“Over 100 people are taken into custody for trying to block the traffic and disobeying lawful demands of the police,” the department said.
