GORKI, December 6 (Itar-Tass) —— President Dmitry Medvedev links his future to the United Russia party although he is not a party member, Medvedev’s press secretary Natalia Timakova told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.
She did not say whether Medvedev planned his official membership in United Russia.
“At the moment Dmitry Medvedev is the President of Russia. He is not a member of any political party,” Timakova said. “However, he has always supported United Russia, which nominated him for president and supported the president at the State Duma and territorial legislative assemblies,” she said.
“Medvedev had always linked himself to United Russia, which was why he agreed to top the United Russia candidate list in the latest election,” Timakova said.
