MOSCOW, December 6 (Itar-Tass) —— Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin believes that Russia needs a professional parliament, where the clowning and fistfights will be out of place.
“As for the parliament we need a professional parliament,” he said at a meeting with the chiefs of the public liaison offices of the chairman of the United Russia Party.
Putin recalled about the recent talk with a worker of the Baltic plant in St. Petersburg. “I said to him that if someone wants to see on the TV, how the deputies are fighting in the parliament, dragging each other by the hair, probably such show will be interesting as well. But if someone wants to watch the show, it is better to go to the circus, theatre or cinema,” the prime minister stated. “The more we keep smiling on what is going on in the parliament, the sadder it will be.” “This will lead to degradation not only political, but also legal sphere in the life of the state,” Putin concluded, giving as an example similar cases in the political life in Ukraine.
