GORKI, December 5 (Itar-Tass) — Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has expressed concern over the situation in South Ossetia.

“The situation in South Ossetia develops under the domestic rules, I do not like that they have quarreled there,” he said at the meeting with members of the Public Supporters Committee on Monday. “This, of course, happens in small territories.”

“There are only several participants in all this process, who represent different clans and who from time to time enter into a debate,” he said. “It’s bad that this affects the interests of the republic itself, the republic that we supported and will further support.”

The presidential election in South Ossetia was held on November 13 and the run-off - on November 27. However, its results were invalidated by the Supreme Court of South Ossetia. The new election will be held on March 25, 2012.
