MOSCOW, December 5 (Itar-Tass) — The United Russia party promises an absolutely transparent discussion of a candidate for the lower house speaker, the head of the party’s central executive committee, Andrei Vorobyev, told reporters on Monday.
“We will propose a candidate for the State Duma speaker absolutely transparently as before through discussions and observation of all norms that are effective in a civilized world,” he said. “This will not be a decision taken behind the closed doors.”
The secretary of the party’s general council presidium, Sergei Neverov, reiterated that on the lists of United Russia there are many new people, including non-party members, who represent the All-Russian Popular Front.
“Therefore this will be the parliament that will have serious discussions,” he said.
