CIS observers find no violations at elections to State Duma

Some 41 CIS observers are working in Russia, they are monitoring the elections in six Russian federal districts

MOSCOW, December 4 (Itar-Tass) —— CIS observers did not find any violations at the elections to the State Duma, coordinator of the CIS Inter-parliamentary Assembly and co-chairman of the Kazakh Senate Kairat Ishchanov told Itar-Tass on Sunday.

“Some 41 CIS observers are working in Russia, they are monitoring the elections in six Russian federal districts,” he said. “Ten observers are monitoring the elections in Moscow,” he noted.

The observer mission has already visited four polling stations in the Russian capital, Ishchanov said. “Colleagues, who are working in other cities, visit 5-6 polling stations,” he added.

“They found neither violations nor remarks,” the source said, noting that “it is too early to make conclusions.”

Along with CIS observers, the observer missions of PACE, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, the Nordic Council work at the elections to the State Duma.
