Chiefs of Russian, Polish general staffs to discuss security

On Tuesday, the delegation will hold talks with chief of the Russian General Staff and First Defence Minister Nikolai Makarov

MOSCOW, December 4 (Itar-Tass) — Chief of the General Staff of Polish armed forces, General Mieczyslaw Cieniuch arrived in the Russian capital on Sunday on a working visit, Itar-Tass learnt at the public relations service of the Defence Ministry.

According to the public relations service, “in compliance with the visit programme of the Polish delegation, it will visit on Monday an independent motorized brigade of the Western Military District in the village of Alabino where it will inspect organization of military training and every-day activities of the formation’s units”.

“On Tuesday, the delegation will hold talks with chief of the Russian General Staff and First Defence Minister Nikolai Makarov,” the public relations service reported.

“The chiefs of the general staffs of the two countries will discuss the state of and prospects for military cooperation, share experience on reforming national armed forces, exchange opinions on the situation around European ABM as well as will examine questions of regional and international security.”

“On Tuesday, General Cieniuch will deliver a speech before the faculty and students of the Military Academy of the General Staff on pressing issues of reforming the Polish armed forces,” the public relations service specified.
