Bashkiria prints ballot papers in three languages: Russian, Barshkir, Tatar

Representatives of the mission of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights are now in the republic

UFA, December 3 (Itar-Tass) — Ballot papers are printed in three languages for the elections in Bashkiria – Russian, Bashkir and Tatar. Itar-Tass learnt at the republican Central Election Commission. The republic printed 3,067,700 ballot papers for the elections to the All-Russian State Duma.

The CEC noted that 78 percent of ballot papers were printed in Russian; Barshkir and Tatar – 22 percent of the total number of printed ballots.

According to deputy police chief of the Bashkiria Interior Ministry Alexander Popov, police officers will ensure law and order at each of 3,528 polling stations. Law enforcers will work in close contacts with precinct and territorial election commissions.

A total of 92 candidates, presented in regional lists of all political parties, will fight in the republic for seats at the All-Russian State Duma. Systems of processing ballot papers will operate at 178 Bashkiria polling stations, while in the working township of Priyutovo, Belebeyevsky district, only automatic systems of processing ballot papers will operate at all 11 polling stations.

Six specialized polling stations for blind persons will work on December 4: one in Ufa, Sterlitamak and Beloretsk each and three in Belebeye.

Representatives of the mission of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights are now in the republic. They are accredited by the Russian Central Election Commission as foreign observers. They will be joined by another 13 international observers on December 4: ten of them are representatives from the OSCE mission, two – from the CIS mission as well as a representative from the international anti-fascist non-government organization from Finland.
