Police investigate brawl that injured Austrian football fans

MOSCOW, December 2 (Itar-Tass) —— The police are investigating the brawl at the hotel in north-eastern Moscow, where several football fans of Austria’s Sturm were injured. A criminal case will be opened upon the investigation results, the press service of the Moscow police department told Itar-Tass on Friday.

The incident occurred at about 00.40 Moscow time on Friday after the Europa League match between Lokomotiv Moscow and Austria’s Sturm. The call came in the police alert force about a fistfight at the Borodino Hotel on Rusakovskaya Embankment. “The Moscow police alert force rushed to the incident site and detained suspected brawl instigators. They are two Muscovites born in 1987, Lokomotiv football fans,” the press service said.

Three Austrian football fans were hospitalized with various injuries as a result of the brawl. They were discharged from the hospital after the medical aid.
