Moscow metro to get three new stations Friday

Moscow plans to build additional 75 kilometers of metro lines and 35 new stations by the end of 2015

MOSCOW, December 2 (Itar-Tass) —— The Moscow metro will start up three new stations in the southern sleeping quarters of the city on Friday which will extend the total length of the underground by 4.5 kilometers to 305. The number of stations will comprise 185.

The construction of Borisovo, Shipilovskaya, Zyablikovo stations was launched yet in 1991, but was suspended for 13 years because of a lack of financing and resumed only in 2008.

The line is going under the Moskva River from Maryino station to Zyablikovo which will offer a transfer to the operating Krasnogvardeiskaya station of the green line. It is the first experience in linking two terminal stations which will definitely ease the load on the green line and will make it unnecessary to travel to the center of the city for the transfer.
