KIEV, December 1 (Itar-Tass) —— Ukraine’s former prime minister, Yulia Timoshenko, has received the results of medical tests she had undergone at Kiev’s regional hospital on November 23, the press-service of the state penitentiary service has said.

“Timoshenko has requested and been given the results of medical tests in accordance with Ukraine’s health protection law,” the penitentiary service said in a statement for the press. The conclusion signed by doctors says that there is no threat to Timoshenko’s life, her condition tends to get better, a proper course of medical treatment was ordered, and for this reason she has been transferred to the medical and sanitary division of Kiev’s detention center.

“The recommended treatment is provided in full,” the penitentiary service said.

Kiev’s court of appeal is holding preliminary hearings on Yulia Timoshenko’s case, who last October was sentenced to seven years in prison for power abuse in signing gas contracts with Russia. Timoshenko is absent from the courtroom due to her poor condition.
