MOSCOW, December 1 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia will base its defence relations with Syria in strict compliance with law, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov told journalists on Thursday.

When asked whether Russia would sell arms to Syria, Ivanov said, “Russia will do anything, which is not prohibited by law.”

Currently, there are no international norms, rules or agreements that ban the sale of arms and spare parts to Syria.
