Gazprom expects to formalize gas accords with Ukraine by yearend

MOSCOW, December 1 (Itar-Tass) — During a recent meeting here with Yuri Boiko, Ukrainian Minister of Energy and Coal Industry, Alexei Miller, Gazprom Chairman of the Board, had said that "essential progress has been made" at the Gazprom-Ukraine talks on the elaboration of new terms for Russo-Ukrainian interaction in the gas sector, and that the dialogue on the subject had been proceeding constructively, an official at the Russian company's information department said Thursday.

Specifically, those present at the meeting considered matters concerning the current and long-term cooperation in the gas sector. Miller pointed out, "It can be expected that we shall formalize accords about the development of cooperation on gas-related matters towards the end of this year".
