TSKHINVAL, November 30 (Itar-Tass) — South Ossetian opposition leader Alla Dzhioyeva and her supporters have delivered an ultimatum to incumbent president Eduard Kokoity.
Dzhioyeva said Kokoity must settle the situation within one day in order to guarantee immunity to her and her family.
Addressing her supporters at Tskhinval downtown on Wednesday, Dzhioyeva said, “We set two conditions: we demand that the court ruling be annulled and that the CEC final protocol be made public. We also give security guarantees to the former president and his family.”
According to Dzhioyeva, now a member of the opposition-formed State Council, Vladimir Kelekhsayev, is negotiating with Kokoity. “We will tell you about the result of the negotiations. They have asked for two days to think it over, but we insist that the answer be given today,” she said.
General Anatoly Barankevich calls on Dzhioyeva’s supporters to step back the government’s building in order to prevent any clashes with guards.
