MOSCOW, November 30 (Itar-Tass) — Journalist and TV program host Lev Bruni has died in Moscow at the age of 61 after a serious illness, the family announced on Wednesday.
Lev Bruni was born in1950 in Moscow into the family of artists. He was a descendant of Fyodor Bruni, one of the founders of the Russian classical school of painting of the middle of the 19th century. In1975 Bruni graduated from the art studies section of the History Department of MGU (Moscow State Universty), and participated in an exhibition of works by non-conformists at the VDNKh (economic achievements exhibition) cultural center.
Bruni for years lived and worked in Sweden and France, cooperating with Russian-language media there. He returned to Moscow in 1992. Together with Leonid Parfyonov and Sergei Mostovshchikov, he was one of the first to sign the Moscow Charter of Journalists in 1994.
Lev Bruni was a political news analyst working with the capital's newspapers, and conducted programs on the Rossiya (Russia) and TV-Center channels. In recent years he wrote articles about culture.
