KIEV, November 29 (Itar-Tass) —— The health of Ukraine’s former prime minister, Yulia Timoshenko, who is kept at a detention center, has worsened sharply, her lawyer, Sergei Vlasenko, told the media.
“Timoshenko is far worse. She has been denied medical assistance for the past 24 hours, contrary to statements by President Viktor Yanukovich that the former prime minister will be given all necessary medical support,” Vlasenko said. According to the lawyer, Timoshenko has developed new symptoms.
“She feels dizzy, she suffers nosebleeds and her left arm goes numb,” he said.
On Monday Yanukovich gave orders to provide Timoshenko, who is at a detention center in Kiev, with proper medical assistance.
Speaking at a joint news conference with Poland’s President Bronislaw Komorowski, he said, “Of late I heard many claims by the lawyers of the former prime minister about her conditions in detention. I instructed all agencies and offices concerned to create the conditions that are required today at the European level. I mean, medical treatment, examination and keeping.”
