Court prohibits making results of South Ossetian election public

TSKHINVAL, November 28 (Itar-Tass) —— The Supreme Court of South Ossetia has prohibited the Central Election Commission from announcing the results of the runoff presidential elections, Chairman of the Supreme court Atsamaz Bichenov said at the Election Information Center on Monday.

The Unity party has lodged a complaint with the Supreme Court against illegal activities of supporters of presidential candidate Alla Dzhioyeva and the inetia of the Central Election Commission which did not cut short the violations, the Supreme court chairman said.

The court will look into the complaint during the whole day on Monday and pass its resolution on the same day, Bichenov said. He demanded that the Central Election Commission should refrain from announcing the preliminary results of the elections during that time pending the court resolution.

The facts mentioned in the complaint include incidents of voters' bribery, pressure on voters and illegal canvassing during the vote, the Supreme Court chairman said.
