MOSCOW, November 28 (Itar-Tass) — The Moscow region’s police have seized 7 tonnes of poppy straw while examining a car of a Belarussian citizen in Domodedovo near Moscow, the press service of the region’s police department told Itar-Tass on Monday.
As a result of the raid police stopped a Mercedes Benz car driven by a 51 year old citizen of Belarus staying on the territory of Russia without official registration.
There were another two passengers inside the car – a 55 year old citizen of Belarus and a 27 year old resident of Russia’s Stavropol Territory.
“All men were detained and taken to a police department for further investigation. The issue of opening a criminal case against them is being resolved,” the source said.
