Turnout tops 60% in second round of South Ossetian presidential election

The minimal turnout for the election validity was set at 30%

TSKHINVALI, November 27 (Itar-Tass) —— The turnout in the South Ossetian presidential election reached 61.21% as of 4:00 p.m. Moscow time, Central Elections Commission Chairperson Bella Pliyeva said.

The minimal turnout for the election validity was set at 30%.

Emergency Situations Minister Anatoly Bibilov and ex-Education Minister Alla Dzhioyeva, who gained the majority of votes in the election’s first round, are the rivals in the Sunday ballot.
