PETROZAVODSK, November 24 (Itar-Tass) —— Gazprom’s CEO Alexei Miller sees no reasons for a new gas war with Russia.
“We have an effective contract with Ukraine for gas supplies and for transit. It continues to be honored. Ukraine will continue to act on this contract,” Miller told the media.
Asked if there might develop the risk of a new gas war, Gazprom said, “There cannot be any, because the existing contract is for 2011-2012.”
In his opinion, today’s situation is not the one that existed when gas traffic was disrupted, when there was no contract and no chance of supplying gas to Ukraine.
“You remember pretty well the way Ukraine behaved and positioned itself. Now there is a contract and it will be complied with,” Gazprom’s chief said.
