KIEV, November 24 (Itar-Tass) — Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich believes the accords on the price of Russian natural gas might be reached by yearend. "The gas issue is very important. We're conducting negotiations and I'm hoping we'll come to terms by yearend. The price should be fair," the president said in Sumy on Thursday.
He reminded that the gas contracts Ukraine signed in 2009 were "fettering."
During the recent meeting with the Lithuanian president Yanukovich said the talks over gas supplies and gas transit were far from being finished, yet "both sides were moving toward each other."
