MOSCOW, November 24 (Itar-Tass) — Passengers of a plane that was about to take off from Saratov to Moscow were evacuated on Thursday morning because of smoke in the pilots’ cabin, a source from a regional law enforcement agency told Tass.
According to the source, a Yak-42 passenger plane was getting ready for a takeoff at the airport of Saratov, when insignificant fumigation and the smell of smoke were fixed in the pilots’ cabin. “It was decided to evacuate 61 passengers on board,” the source added.
“The passengers will leave for Moscow on board another plane, which is ready for the flight,” the source added.
Specialists from the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) have stressed that according to early reports there was no fire. Nobody was injured. Rosaviatsiya has set up a commission to look into the incident.
