NIZHNY NOVGOROD, November 23 (Itar-Tass) —— The search for a Robinson R44 private helicopter, which has been missing in the Tver region since last Friday, has yielded no result so far. The area of the search has been further expanded up to the neighboring Nizhny Novgorod region, a spokesman for the Nizhny Novgorod emergencies administration told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.

“According to estimates, the helicopter had fuel enough to cover a distance of 650 kilometers. The territory of the Nizhny Novgorod region is within this radius,” the spokesman said.

The Robinson R44 departed from the settlement of Gorodnya in the Konakovo district on Friday evening. It was supposed to fly to Orshinskiye Bolota and back. The pilot made no contact with the tower. The helicopter emergency buoy activated at 19:15 Moscow time. According to preliminary data, the helicopter had only one person aboard, Redkino Experimental Plant Director Yevgeny Kurbatov. His whereabouts are yet unknown.

The Nizhny Novgorod emergencies administration has asked local residents to report any information that might be useful to find the helicopter.
