KURGAN-TYUBE (Tajikistan), November 22 (Itar-Tass) —— The prosecutor’s office in the Khatlon Region of Tajikistan demanded to overturn the guilty verdict against the pilots of the Rolkan air company – Vladimir Sadovnichy and Alexei Rudenko and to release them in the courtroom during a session of the cassation penal here on Tuesday.

The pilots were sentenced to 8.5 years in a tough security penitentiary. The prosecutor noted that the previous verdict was too severe and did not comply with the graveness of the crime committed by the pilots. In this respect, he demanded to commute the sentence to 2.5 years in prison and under the presidential amnesty act and taking into account the term that the pilots spent in custody to release the convicts in the courtroom, the prosecutor stated.
