VLADIKAVKAZ, November 21 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia’s reciprocal actions to the deployment of the US missile defence system in Europe will be “reasonable and sufficient,” but they will not seal off an option for further negotiations, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said at a meeting with the officers in the Southern Military District on Monday.

“We will have to take some concrete decisions and I will voice them in the near future. You cannot doubt that our actions will be reasonable, sufficient and will not block the path to continue the negotiations on the situation over the European missile shield with our NATO partners,” Medvedev pledged. “We should respond, but at the same time we should not close the doors for negotiations,” the president added.

He noted that the missile defence system in the way the United States offered it “can change drastically the parity system” that may cause some problems for Russia.
