KAZAN, November 20 (Itar-Tass) —— One hundred and sixty amateur fishermen were rescued from a drifting ice block in the Kama River in Tatarstan, a source at the republican emergency situations department told Itar-Tass.
“The accident happened off the village of Tashkirmen at 1:53 p.m. Moscow time on Sunday. A towboat crushed the ice and the ice block started drifting with the fishermen on it,” he said.
An air-cushion boat transported the fishermen to the shore. No one is dead or injured.
Two hundred fishermen were rescued from a drifting ice block in the same area a week ago.
