MOSCOW, November 20 (Itar-Tass) —— Two passenger jetliners had emergency landings in south Russia on Sunday. A Boeing 737 had to land in Krasnodar and a Yakovlev Yak-42 in Grozny, a source at the Federal Air Transport Service told Itar-Tass.

The Boeing 737 of Kuban Airlines was flying from Krasnodar to Prague. “A service hatch failed to close, and the crew decided to go back to the airport of departure. The jetliner landed safety, and passengers took a different plane to the Czech Republic,” he said.

The Yak-42 of Grozny Avia was flying from Grozny to Istanbul. “An engine malfunction occurred soon after the takeoff. The jetliner spent its fuel and landed in Grozny. None of the 112 passengers was hurt. They took a different plane to Turkey,” the source said.
