Russia hasn’t won a medal in the Big Air discipline since 2002 when Dmitry Fesenko finished second in the World Cup

STOCKHOLM, November 20 (Itar-Tass) — Russian snowboarder Alexey Sobolev won a bronze medal at the World Cup competitions in Stockholm on Saturday. Sobolev became the first Russian athlete to win a medal in the Big Air discipline in the last nine years.

The Russian Alpine Skii and Snowboard Federation reports that Sobolev had confidently passed the qualifiers and entered the final with the fifth result. He managed to improve it to become third after two attempts.
