VLADIVOSTOK, November 18 (Itar-Tass) —— The search for an unknown vessel, which gave the SOS signals, continues in the Sea of Okhotsk.
The emergency beacon, which went off, is presumably belonged to the fishing schooner Katsuei Maru-18 flying the Japanese flag. Russian rescuers sent a request in Japan, but the country answered that the schooner had been earlier sold to Hong Kong and was named Kveli, has not information about its new owners.
Five Russian schooners and trawlers have searched through the coverage zone of the emergency beacon on Friday and on Thursday. No traces of shipwreck were found, no one responded to radio signals in the incident area.
The aviation is about to be involved in the search.
In this area of the Sea of Okhotsk wives up to five meters high are seen and the winds reach 10-12 meters per second, the visibility is good.
