MOSCOW, November 17 (Itar-Tass) — Russia’s Central Elections Commission /CEC/ allowed on Thursday to organise early voting for Russians in over 60 countries worldwide.
For example, Russians will be able to participate in early voting at the elections to the State Duma in 13 Eastern countries. The commission explains that the decision was caused by the fact that a day off in eastern countries is not on Sunday. Thus in most countries Russians will vote on December 2 and only in Kuwait on December 3.
In several dozens other countries, early voting will be organised between November 19 and December 3. This option will be available for those Russians who may experience difficulties on the election day in getting to voting stations, organised at Russia’s diplomatic missions.
Head of Russia’s CEC Vladimir Churov made it clear that the list of countries approved on Thursday is not final.
There is nothing extraordinary in the decision. Similar decisions are made during all federal election campaigns. The election commission reports that 376 parliamentary elections voting stations will be opened in 146 countries of the world.
The elections of deputies of the State Duma of the sixth convection are due on December 4.
