Russia’s emergencies ministry sends humanitarian aid to Serbia

The plane is carrying heaters, canned foods, sugar to an overall weight of 36 tons

MOSCOW, November 17 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia’s Emergencies Ministry (EMERCON) has sent some 40 tons of humanitarian aid to Serbia, a ministry spokesman said on Thursday.

“At 11:20 a.m. Moscow time, an Ilyushin-76 jet flew from the Ramenskoyer airfield outside Moscow to the Serbian city of Nish. The plane is carrying heaters, canned foods, sugar to an overall weight of 36 tons,” the spokesman said.

This year Russia has already rendered aid to Serbia - - in late August, EMERCON sent a Be-200 amphibian plane and a Mi-26 helicopter to extinguish wildfires in this country. In October, a Russian-Serbian Centre for Emergencies in the Balkans was opened in Nish.
