RF to put in operation 8 GW of new energy capacities 2012

“This is a record figure for Russia” - Putin

MOSCOW, November 16 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia will put into operation eight GW of new energy capacities in 2012, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with members of the Eastern Committee of German Economy here on Wednesday.

“If 3.2 GW were commissioned in the previous year, this will be about six GW in 2011, and we will double this figure in the next year 2012 against the current year and we will reach about eight GW,” Putin said, noting that “this is a record figure for Russia.”
