Ex mayor to answer investigator's questions in embezzlement case

The investigator is looking into the Moscow government’s buying an additional issue of Bank of Moscow shares in 2009

MOSCOW, November 15 (Itar-Tass) — Former Moscow mayor Yuri Luzhkov is at the investigation department of the Interior Ministry for questioning. He was summoned as a witness in the case over theft of money at the Bank of Moscow.

The investigator is looking into the Moscow government’s buying an additional issue of Bank of Moscow shares in 2009. He believes that the bank used the bulk of the money received from the city government (some 13 billion roubles) to extend a loan to the Premier Estate private company.
