Forecast of Russia’s sugar beet harvest increased to 48 million tonnes

MOSCOW, November 14 (Itar-Tass) —— The forecast of Russia’s sugar beet has been increased to 48 million tonnes this year, Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov told a video-conference on Monday.

The video-conference was devoted to the traffic of agricultural products.

“This year’s harvest is good. We plan to gather 48 million tonnes of sugar beet this year, as compared to 19.9 million tonnes in 2010,” the first deputy prime minister said.

Therefore, this year’s traffic of sugar beet is expected to go up more than two times, Zubkov said, instructing to get under control the process.
