NALCHIK, November 14 (Itar-Tass) —— A regime of a counter-terrorist operation enforced in the town of Baksan in Kabardino-Balkaria since 7.30 am Moscow time Monday has been lifted at 11.00 am in accordance with a decision made by Kabardino-Balkaria's FSB Chief Major-General Sergei Kamenny.
Simultaneously, a counter-terrorist regime has been enforced since 13.00 in woodland areas in the highlands on the administrative border of the Chegem and Baksan districts of Kabardino-Balkaria, between the settlements of Lechinkai and Zayukovo, a source from the operational headquarters of Kabardino-Balkaria told Itar-Tass.
The special regime was enforced for purposes of prevention of subversive and terrorist acts and facilitating search for members of illegal armed formations responsible for terrorist acts committed on the territory of Kabardino-Balkaria, the source said.
Special measures and temporary restrictions are allowed on the territory where the regime of counter-terrorist operation remains in effect, the same source said.
