BELGRADE, November 14 (Itar-Tass) — Around 21,000 ethnic Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija have applied to the Russian State Duma, asking to help them be granted Russian citizenship, diplomat of the Russian embassy Oleg Buldakov told Itar-Tass on Monday.
Around 21,000 Serbs - the residents of Kosovo and Metohija, and also refugees who had fled that territory put their signatures under the appeal to the State Duma, the diplomat said. The document said the main reason why they applied for citizenship is to be ensured defense of their security, the Russian diplomat said.
