The builders affirmed that the APEC sites will be commissioned with all the furniture and equipment ahead of the schedule in December 2011

VLADIVOSTOK, November 14 (Itar-Tass) —— The fountains and the original night time illumination were finally installed on the Russky Island, which will host an APEC summit at the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University in 2012.

The fountains with the synchronous illumination will sparkle up right from the depth of an artificial lake with the waterfall, the press service of the general subcontractor – the Crocus Company told Itar-Tass on Monday.

All this water sparkling system is a real honour for the campus builders. According to the design, major brooks on the Saperny Peninsula, several artificial lakes and a waterfall form a common closed water circulation system. The rainwater is running on artificial channels to form brooks and artificial canals that flood in the lakes. The pumping station gives already purified water flooding in the upper lake, from which it flows in the waterfall and further in the lower lake. The purified water remains are getting in the Ajax Bay. US landscape designers have developed this water system.

The waterfall area makes 550 square meters and a total area of lakes of the university landscape makes about 12,000 square meters, Meanwhile, not only the lake and waterfalls, but also the trees will be illuminated in the night time. White, yellow and green lamps of various shapes will be used. More than 350 lamps will be placed only around the lower lake.

“The construction works at a campus of the Far Eastern Federal University in the Ajax Bay on the Russky Island are nearing completion. Simultaneously with the indoor refurbishment of the buildings, which will host an APEC summit in September 2012 and then more than 50,000 students will be able to live and study, the adjacent territory is being developed,” the press service said.
