HONOLULU, November 13 (Itar-Tass) — Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has highlighted the Barack Obama administration’s decisive contribution to Russia’s accession to the World Trade Organization.

“No U.S. administration has provided such support for us in this process before and probably, that’s why Russia has been moving towards the WTO membership since 1993,” he said thanking Obama for “his active and interested support for Russia’s efforts.”

“The global economy and finances face hard times and the more coordinated our actions will be, the lesser barriers for free trade will emerge,” Medvedev said. “The clearer instructions we give to financial institutions, the sooner we will get out of the recession that is now being observed and the easier it will be for us to fight unemployment that is a serious problem.”
