HONOLULU (Hawaii), November 13 (Itar-Tass) — Russia and Japan have agreed to step up cooperation in economic modernization.
The relevant memorandum was signed by Russia’s Minister of Economic Development Elvira Nabiullina and Japan’s Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Yukio Edano on the sidelines of the APEC summit in Honolulu on Saturday.
The document envisages cooperation to improve business climate for trade and investments, to maintain regular and constructive dialogue between the two countries’ authorities and business circles.
It also stipulates encouragement of investments into the Skolkovo innovation hub and other innovation projects, support for energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources and development of cooperation among local governments.
After the document’s signing the two ministers expressed the hope that the new agreement will contribute to dynamic development of trade and economic relations between Russia and Japan.
