MOSCOW, November 12 (Itar-Tass) —— Prime Minister Vladimir Putin will be officially nominated as a presidential candidate from the United Russia party at its congress in Moscow on November 27.
“Then main item [on the agenda] is the nomination of the presidential candidate,” the party’s Executive Committee Head Andrei Vorobyov said on Saturday, November 12.
He said the congress will work one day. “We are not planning to work for two days,” he added.
Some 11,000 delegates and guests are expected to attend the forum. Its organisers have already accredited 850 journalists. “There is a tremendous interest. Everybody is waiting to see it,” Vorobyov said.
Earlier, President Dmitry Medvedev agreed to lead the party’s election list in the Duma elections and suggested that Putin be nominated as a presidential candidate.
