BISHKEK, November 12 (Itar-Tass) —— Incumbent Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev was officially announced by the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) on Saturday the winner of the presidential elections held on October 30.
“Atambayev gained 62.52 percent of votes, leader of the Single Kyrgyzstan party Adakhan Madumarov followed him with 14.78 percent of votes, and leader of the Ata-Zhurt (Fatherland) party Kamchybek Tashiyev was third - - 14.32 percent,” CEC head Tuigunaly Abdraimov said. Other 13 candidates haven’t managed to overcome the one-percent barrier. A little bit more than 60 percent of three million registered electors took part in the elections.
According to ITAR-TASS sources in the country’s leadership, the inauguration ceremony will be held in 2-3 weeks.
