Putin may get 65-70 pct of votes in presidential election – political scientist

"This is the level of support that Putin always had," Migranian told the media after Putin’s meeting with members of the discussion club Valdai on Friday

POZDNYAKOVO, November 12 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia’s Prime Minister Vladimir Putin may get 65-70 percent of the votes in next March’s presidential election, says political scientist Andranik Migranian.

“The voter support will range 65-70 percent. This is the level of support that Putin always had,” Migranian told the media after Putin’s meeting with members of the discussion club Valdai on Friday.

He explained that the head of government now had an excellent knowledge of the economic problems, because “over the several years that he has been the prime minister he has literally examined the whole of Russia’s economy with his own hands.”

“I believe that he will have enough determination, strength and support to achieve some breakthrough solutions in some areas, which would require certain priorities and investments in creating competitive products. This is precisely what the Russian economy has lacked so far.”
