DUSHANBE, November 11 (Itar-Tass) — The Tajik lawyer of the convicted pilots of the Russian airline Gulyam Boboyev filed an appeal against the verdict, which was passed in the court of Kurgan-Tyube, the lawyer told Itar-Tass by phone on Friday.
“I just filed an appeal in the secretariat of the city court, from where it should be urgently submitted in the regional court, which should try it within a week,” the lawyer noted. He confirmed that he intends to defend the interests of his clients, considering their guilty unproved neither during the preliminary investigation nor the trial.
The pilots of the Russian airline Russian citizen Vladimir Sadovnichy and Estonian citizen Alexei Rudenko were sentenced to 8.5 years in a tough security penitentiary on November 8.
