MOSCOW, November 10 (Itar-Tass) — Iran is interested in construction of new blocks of the Bushehr nuclear power plant, and head of Rosatom Sergei Kiriyenko believes it is possible.
“We are working on it, as construction of new energy blocks does not cause doubts from the international community and is not a sensitive issue,” he told a presidium of Russia’s government on Thursday.
“This would require certain addendums to the intergovernmental agreement, and we are working on this with the foreign ministry,” he added.
Russia’s Prime Minister Vladimir Putin wanted to learn “if the Iranian side has expressed suggestions regarding construction of new blocks.”
“Yes, it has,” Kiriyenko replied.
