MOSCOW, November 10 (Itar-Tass) —— The police reform will be continued, because it is needed for the society and police, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said in the Twitter in his message of congratulation for Russian policemen on their professional holiday on Thursday.

“The police reform will be continued. This is needed to our society and the police,” Medvedev noted.

“Today is the day of policeman. My congratulations!” the president wrote down in the message.

Russian policemen celebrate their professional holiday – the Day of Policeman for the 49th time already, but in the new status of policemen for the first time.

Since November 10, 1962 the Day of Militia was celebrated, but on March 1, 2011 when the police law entered into force, the word militiaman went down in history, because the police has an absolutely new structure of police, as the former militiamen, who passed reclassification successfully, turned in policemen.
